As with many popular shows, ‘The Beverly Hillbillies’ saw a film adaptation several years later in 1993. The film features the Clampetts moving to Beverly Hills as in the show, and dealing with spurious characters who want to separate them from their money.
Despite being based on such a popular property, the film was not particularly successful. It made a reasonable $57 million on a $25 million budget, but it was widely panned by critics, and was unpopular with fans of the original show.
