On the show, Daisy “Granny Clampett” Moses was known for her unorthodox country cooking, which resulted in some truly unique cuisine. However, it appeared that the public had a real appetite for such things, as in 1966 Irene Ryan released a ‘Beverly Hillbillies’ cookbook.
It was written as Granny Clampett and containing both original recipes and some from the show. The book contains some more normal recipes, including omelets and soups, but also has more out-there recipes for dishes such as alligator tail and possum pudding pie.
