Although most of the children have been abandoned by their families, some of them still have contact with family members back in their home countries. Jeane and Paul say that some have no family at all while others haven’t heard from them in years.
The ones that have living and willing relatives regularly contact their families. In fact, the Briggs encourage them to make phone calls and write to them, while the Briggs like to send regular photos to show how well the little ones are getting along.
