Not all of the children have the same support from their biological family. Mya is 17 years old, but she knows that she would have passed away if she stayed in Russia. It turned out that Mya had been handed to 12 different families thanks to her polio.
Joseph lived in the Ukraine where he was born with a cleft lip. He was eventually given to an adoption agency. However, he was never allowed to head on vacation with the other orphans and would be cared for at the hospital instead.
