While it’s true that he may have paid into the national insurance that keeps the wheel turning, he’s forgetting who it’s there for. He feels he is entitled to be offered a free hot drink while his wife is in labor because he has worked and paid into the NHS.
This might seem like a reasonable justification to a few people. However, some people pointed out that it’s important to remember that his turn will come when he becomes the patient, when he’ll be the one in need of care.
