Life is pretty weird, right? Most of the time, none of us really have a clue what’s going on or where we’re going, but we are quite content with coasting through life and seeing where we end up. However, there comes a time when you realize that you want more from your existence on your planet. You want to be somebody, and you want to be working towards something special. So, how do you do it? This is how you decide on your real life goals…
What do you like doing?
Although goals are there to be achieved, there are some that are just downright impossible. Rather than crying over this, you just need to accept that these goals are unattainable – and you need to work for that. After all, most goals can be achieved if they stem from this one main question: What do you like doing? If you hate math but set yourself a goal that you’re going to be a math teacher, it’s just not gonna work. Think about what you like doing, and work from there. If you love English, perhaps you might want to be a writer? This is for you to decide.
What are your strengths?
It’s always a good idea to work on your strengths when it comes to your life goals. Only you can truly know what you’re good at and how you can continue to thrive in such a field, which means that it’s down to you to decide on your real life goals. Think about your strengths, think about the positives in your life, and work your way along from that.
What do you personally want?
It can be extremely easy to look around and compare yourself to others. You look at their lives, and you get jealous, and that’s completely normal. However, that doesn’t mean that their goals are the same as your goals. Instead of copying what someone else is getting up to or what they are doing with their lives, you need to have a real think about what you want. You may want a similar version of what they have, but how are you realistically going to get there and how are you going to tailor this to your own life?
What do you want your ideal day to look like?
We all want an easy life, which is why it’s always important to think about this when you’re getting your real life goals. If you are not currently happy with the way that your life is going, you need to think about what is causing that. How would you like that to change? And what would your ideal day look like? As soon as you have that image in your head, you should know exactly what your goals should be – because your goal is to get there and to complete the steps that will allow you to get there.
Deciding on your real life goals doesn’t have to be as difficult as it may seem. All you have to do is ask yourself these questions, and the goals should stem from there.
