However, the Department of Health and Human Services took a while to get to Dolly’s house. Because of this, she tried to make the baby feel as comfortable as possible. She held it, she spoke to it, and she took good care of it. When Human Services eventually arrived, they took the baby off her hands and helped to find it a new home. To this day, Dolly doesn’t know anything about the child or where it has ended up, but she has never forgotten the events of that day.
