Writing these songs for a member of her own family felt incredibly cathartic for Dolly, as they were all going through a tough time. Yet, she has also noted that this children’s album also had a positive effect for her as a person. Writing and connecting with the younger generation made her feel young again, and made her feel as though she could take over the world. She has noted that the experience made her feel “rejuvenated” and as though she could really have fun with her creative process.
