If you think Dolly Parton and her music are merely frivolous distractions, think again! The University of Tennessee’s curriculum now contains a course – titled Dolly’s America – about the singer and her life.

Dr. Lynn Sacco, who teaches the course, said it was great that a figure like Dolly Parton came from that part of America and was able to shed light on it and act as an ambassador. It’s not just an easy A, either – the course is a thesis seminar for history students enrolled in the honors program!
