If you thought Dolly Parton was just a pretty face and an amazing voice, you better check yourself. One writer for Vogue noted, after watching Parton perform, that she played no less than six instruments throughout her performance.
From old standards like the banjo, guitar, and piano to interesting choices like the dulcimer (a string instrument popular in Appalachia), recorder, and saxophone, Parton is a multi-instrumentalist. She admitted as much herself, saying with typical modesty, “Oh, I play some of everything. I ain’t that good at none of it, but I try to sell it.”
