Following Taylor’s passing, the Storchs had to adjust to life without her. It took time, but the family eventually found the strength to smile again. One thing they took solace in was a poem written by the 13-year-old. She’d only penned it a week before she’d passed as part of a language arts assignment. The poem gave the Storchs an insight into the teenager’s feelings and proved even further that she’d been a girl with a heart of gold.
There was one line, in particular, that stood out to the family whenever they read it, and that was her declaration that “I want to be on the Ellen Degeneres Show.” Wanting to make her daughter’s dream come true, Tara ended up taking her place just one year later. While on the program, she told her daughter’s story and shared the poem she wrote, reducing everyone in the room to tears.
