Arguably the biggest female country music star on the scene today, Carrie Underwood got her start after famously auditioning and winning the fourth season of American Idol. Before auditioning for the show she followed a more traditional path and even she admits she was unsure about pursuing a music career. She studied mass communication at Northeastern State University and graduated near the top of her class in 2006. After winning the show and releasing her debut, Some Hearts, Underwood has been a steady diva in the country scene.
