Last year Evans decided to go it alone and create her own label to release her music directly to her fans. She launched Born to Fly Records and released her first album on the imprint, Words, last summer. The album featured original music written by Nashville royalty including Carrie Underwood-collaborator Hillary Lindsey, and Luke Laird. After a long and public divorce in 2007 to her first husband, Evans married football player Jay Barker and they live with their children in Alabama.
