Yolanda was born in the Netherlands, where she got her first break modeling in a show for the Dutch designer Frans Molenaar. It was at his fashion show that she was discovered by Eileen Ford, the co-founder of the renowned modeling agency based in New York City, Ford Models. Yolanda was offered a contract with the agency, and started traveling all over the world for photo shoots. She continued for 15 years until moving to Los Angeles to start a family.
