If you become successful and popular, you’ll probably end up being made fun of and parodied. Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood became the subject of many parodies, including from Johnny Carson and Saturday Night Live. For some he felt they made fun of the essence of the show, and spoiled the message he was trying to get across, but for others he had a good sense of humor and seemed to enjoy them. He particularly like Eddie Murphy’s parody on SNL, and when the two met in person Murphy greeted him with a big hug.
