For many people Fred Rogers often provided great comfort in their time of need through his many meaningful episodes. When the show went off the air in August 2001, and just one month later the country was struck by the horrors of 9/11, people realized they needed his guidance more than ever. On the one year anniversary of the attacks, he delivered a beautiful message on TV, telling people what his mother had told him which was to look for helpers because “you will always find someone helping.”
