Most celebrities receive fan mail, but usually when they receive lots of mail they have an assistant write out a response for them to sign, or they have a form letter with a signature at the bottom. But Mister Rogers made a commitment to write back to every child who wrote to him. He felt it was important because children wouldn’t just write about what they liked on the show, they would also share the things they were struggling with and ask advice. He received around 50 to 100 letters per day!
