In this day and age most shows are lucky if they last more than a few seasons, so the fact that Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood spanned decades is truly incredible. The first episode aired in 1968, and by the time its final episode aired in August 2001 it had put out a total of 895 episodes. That’s a lot of trips to Make Believe! There was an entire generation of people who not only grew up watching it as children, but were then able to show it to their own kids after they grew up.
