With Rachael, people typically come for the food but stay for the cook. They might have been attracted by the quick meals on offer, but now they’ve gotten to know the woman, they can’t give her up. Viewers love everything about the TV star, including her distinctive raspy voice.
It’s part of what makes Rachael who she is, although she apparently didn’t always sound like this. It was only after several bad cases of croup damaged her throat that she picked up this unique tone to her voice.
