Before deciding to take up acting, Tom Cruise – who was raised with a Catholic upbringing – actually attended a Franciscan seminary school in Cincinatti, Ohio after getting a scholarship from his church.
He had aspirations of becoming a priest until he realized that his true passion was acting. The young aspiring movie star left the school and eventually head out to New York City and then Los Angeles to try out for roles in TV and film.
