Several big names went out for the lead role of Tiana in Disney’s The Princess and the Frog including Tyra Banks and Alicia Keys. Although it eventually went to Anika Noni Rose, Beyonce was actually the studio’s first pick.
According to the film’s casting director, Jen Rudin, Beyonce expected to get an offer and was insulted when she was told that she had to audition like everyone else. In the end, she was simply turned down.
