The former Gossip Girl star’s upbringing is much different than the lavish life she portrayed on-screen as Blair Waldorf. When Leighton Meester was born, both of her parents were serving time in prison for their involvement in transporting illegal substances.
Meester spent the first three months of her life in a halfway house with her mom, before her mother had to return to prison to finish her sentence and Meester went to live with her grandparents.
