Of all the supposedly scandalous things that Diana did during her life, being photographed topless was perhaps one of the most controversial. The Princess was caught off guard in 1996 when snaps were taken of her sunbathing without a top on.
The pictures were soon all over the media, leaving Diana shaken and devastated. She might not have been Charles’ wife anymore, but she was still expected to behave like she was in the monarchy. Being caught in such a disgraceful position did not do her reputation any favors.
