Charles’ affair with Camilla was controversial for a number of reasons, not least because of the phone conversation they had in 1989. During their chat, the pair made some comments that were hardly befitting of the heir to the throne.
These included things like Charles saying he wanted to “live inside” Camilla’s trousers, with his lover responding that he would be reincarnated as “a pair of knickers.” People were shocked by the pair’s remarks, with Diana also apparently referring to the conversation as “sick.” Evidently, she was not amused.
