Although it’s unfortunate that Charles and Diana’s marriage ended the way it did, it perhaps wasn’t too surprising that things turned disastrous. After all, there were signs from the start that their relationship wasn’t destined for success.
For instance, before they’d even tied the knot, Charles was clearly questioning whether Diana was who he wanted to be with. During an engagement interview, the Prince responded to a question about whether he was in love by saying: “Whatever in love means.” Obviously, he wasn’t too thrilled about his upcoming nuptials.
