As it turned out, Charles really didn’t want to marry Diana at all. Apparently, he only tied the knot because he was pushed to by his family. His parents allegedly felt that Diana would make a good companion for the future king, and they urged him to marry her.
The Prince knew that he couldn’t tie the knot with Camilla, the woman who his heart really belonged to. So, not sure what else to do, he married Diana and hoped that his feelings for her would blossom over time.
