Charles might have believed that their marriage would work out eventually, but unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. It soon became apparent to both parties that their relationship wasn’t working. However, given that Charles was the heir to the throne, they couldn’t just jump ship.
So, they stayed together, despite the fact that their marriage was slowly destroying Diana. Things got so bad for her that she apparently developed bulimia and also began harming herself, with the Princess even allegedly once throwing herself down the stairs. She was severely unhappy.
