Considering how toxic their marriage became, it’s no wonder that Diana sought comfort in Hewitt. She needed someone to remind her that she was still loved because she apparently didn’t feel that way at home.
Although it doesn’t justify the Princess seeing someone behind her husband’s back, it’s understandable why she did it. Perhaps if she and Charles had just followed their hearts sooner, things would have turned out a lot better for the pair. Diana might still even be alive today if they’d done that.
