What are famous conjoined twins, Abby and Brittany Hensel, up to today?

Do you remember Abby & Brittany? The 2012 TLC reality show starred twin sisters Abby & Brittany Hensel as they navigated life in their teens. They lived a normal life going to school, having first experiences, and sometimes clashing with their protective parents. You know – typical teen stuff. One thing set them apart, however. On March 7, 1990 the girls were born, to everyone’s surprise, not just as twins but as conjoined twins. The girls were born sharing the same body. Doctors said that they would unlikely survive an operation to separate and their parents opted to allow them to grow up as is.

The girls defied the odds and managed to grow up leading as normal a life as possible. They each earned their driver’s license and graduated from high school and then college. The show only lasted a season and after the media frenzy surrounding their circumstances began to die down they decided to live their lives outside of the spotlight. Today the girls are living their lives and enjoying all that life has to offer. Over the years they’ve gone through ups and downs just like all of us. Check back in with the girls and see what they’ve been up to since the last time you saw them.

The world greeted Abby and Brittany Hensel on March 7, 1990 with surprise. No one experienced that surprise quite like their parents, Patty and Mike Hensel. When they learned that Patty gave birth to twins they were in awe. They had just expected one child and couldn’t believe that the family had doubled. It was a shock to them all but they were just thrilled to be able to expand their family. They consulted with their doctors when they learned the children were conjoined. They decided to pass on the surgery and not risk the complications. The doctors said that the surgery was risky and that it would certainly be a gamble.
