As Redmond grew up, he began to struggle with the same substance abuse issues as his father. In 2009, Ryan O’Neal confessed that their son had already been to rehabilitation centers a whopping 13 times, but that he was still struggling.
While he was trying to follow in the footsteps of his parents and attempting to create a career for himself in the world of Hollywood, this just wasn’t happening. His problems soon overtook him, and Redmond was on a downward spiral that didn’t show any signs of stopping.
