Macdonald was actually offered a big part in the movie The People Vs. Larry Flynt, directed by Academy Award-winning director Milos Forman, of One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest fame. It seems Norm was spooked by this, as he tried to convince Forman to cast him in a smaller part.
He did his best to show Forman that he couldn’t act and eventually secured a small role as a network reporter in the movie. We wonder what might have happened if he had taken the larger role in the movie.
