In their list ranking all 141 Saturday Night Live cast members, the popular magazine ranked Macdonald at number 139. The review was less than complimentary about him, calling him a “Dennis Miller clone with no jokes.”
This seems to serve the narrative that Norm was fired from the show for being unfunny, as opposed to his claim that he was fired for making jokes about the O.J. Simpson case. Now that he’s started to gain more traction and a fanbase, it’s a wonder whether he might place a little bit higher today!
