Early in his career, Norm actually worked as a staff writer on Roseanne before making it big as a stand-up comedian. During his time on the show, he penned two episodes of the show’s fifth season. Working on a hit comedy show must have really helped to improve Macdonald’s comic timing, as well as giving him an insight into what jokes work on a large scale audience.
There is no doubt his time on the show helped his later career massively.
