One of Macdonald’s biggest strengths as a comedian was his ability to do pretty rad impressions of celebrities. Part of his Saturday Night Live sketches saw him performing an array of different impressions of big-name stars, including Burt Reynolds, Quentin Tarantino, David Letterman, and Larry King.
These were popular segments in the show and led to him anchoring the “Weekend Update” section of the SNL. The art of great celebrity impressions is certainly a lost one, and this is one of the factors that made Norm’s comedy so appealing.
