In return for her “donation,” Rick Singer made sure that Sophie Huffman’s SAT scores were top-class and worthy of admission to the college of her choice.
Thanks to the FBI investigation, it was discovered that he did this by making sure the SAT exam proctor gave Sophia more time in the exam hall and that her wrong answers were corrected when they were marked. This gave her a better overall SAT score that would get her into the college of her choice – something that most people do on their own merit.
