Darla was a wealthy young escort in the 16th century, who was turned by The Master, who’s the leader of the vampire cult Order of Aurelius. She’s also the vampire who sired Angel, and the two were once together in love, and even had a child. Manipulative and cruel, Darla was often jealous of the fact that Angel loved Buffy more than he did her. At one point, Angel managed to turn Darla back into a human, which made her more compassionate, but she was turned into a vampire again.
