Drusilla used to be a human with psychic powers. After Angel killed her entire family in 1960, he tortured her to the point of insanity, and became her sire, turning her into a vampire. Drusilla herself later sired a poet named William (the vampire we know as Spike) – and the two became life partners and adversaries to Buffy, Angel, and their friends. Drusilla managed to survive mainly due to her ability to remain in the shadows.
