The 2016 romcom “Rules Don’t Apply” certainly had a lot going for it when it came out. Unfortunately, not many people seemed to agree.
Despite the star power of Warren Beatty, Alec Baldwin, and Lily Collins giving viewers a reason to buy movie tickets, the film only pulled in $667 upon launch. When it comes to rom-coms, it’s difficult to find something that hasn’t already been done a million times before. Unfortunately for “Rules Don’t Apply,” it wasn’t able to find a story that stood out from the crowd.
