With a score of 81% on Rotten Tomatoes, “Bandslam” was clearly a firm favorite with the critics. The film was applauded for its coming-of-age story and strong performances, eventually earning a total of $12 million at the box office.
However, with a budget of $20 million, “Bandslam” wasn’t quite impressive enough to be a success. In fact, it took some time for people to show an in interest in the film as its first-day earnings were just over the $1,000 mark. At least people liked it – eventually.
