After moving to Los Angeles, Griffin joined the iconic comedy school The Groundlings. Following years of studying, performing, writing, and auditioning in Hollywood, she was cast in the Brooke Shields-starring sitcom Suddenly Susan. During the show’s run she booked her first special on HBO and today she holds the Guiness World record for most aired specials from any comedian ever. The oversharing and witty comedian also won two Emmys for her successful reality series Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List.
