Schumer graduated with a theater degree from Towson University in 2003 and soon moved back to her home city, New York City, to pursue stand-up. After working her way up slowly, the quick-witted Schumer decided to try out for Last Comic Standing. She was eliminated in the top four but that didn’t discourage her. She continued to perform and after a successful set during The Comedy Central Roast of Charlie Sheen, the network offered Schumer her own sketch and standup TV show, Inside Amy Schumer.
