Soon after graduating from Emerson College, Iliza Shlesinger moved to Los Angeles to pursue her stand-up career. While playing local clubs and open mic nights, she decided to try out for the NBC reality competition series Last Comic Standing. Her observational humor and pop culture references were a hit with viewers and the judges and she was awarded Shlesinger the crown. Winning the show set her career in motion and she immediately began touring the country and selling out shows.
