Cho began trying out material at the club across the street from her parent’s bookstore in San Francisco in the early ‘90s. After gaining a steady following, she won the American Comedy Award for Best Female Comedian in 1994. Much of her early material featured impressions of her parents and the employees at the bookstore. In 1997 she landed a small role in the hit action film Face/Off and starred in the short-lived ABC sitcom All-American Girl. All the while, Cho continued to perform at venues around the world.
