The reliably funny Wanda Sykes began her comedy career in the ‘80s after working at the National Security Agency. She decided to give stand-up a shot and good thing she did. After several years honing her craft and performing in the Washington D.C. area for a number of years, she was invited to open for Chris Rock. Her set went so well he hired her to join his writing staff on The Chris Rock Show. She even won an Emmy for her writing duties on the late night talk show.
