All was not well with Sorokin’s wardrobe throughout the trial, sadly. Once, she was wheeled to the courthouse in a tan prison-issue sweatsuit, and refused to put on the civvies provided to her by authorities because they were deemed to be ugly.
She then allegedly threw a temper tantrum, refusing to enter the courtroom altogether and faking feeling ill. Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Diane Kiesel would have none of it, and sent her lawyer to talk some sense into her. A down-in-the-dumps Sorokin eventually shuffled in – wearing prison garb.
