Listening to Sorokin’s lawyer, Todd Spodek, none of it was really her fault. Putting it in layman’s terms, he said she was simply trying to “fake it until she made it.”
He even quoted Frank Sinantra immortal song, “New York, New York,” and said that “making a brand new start of it” in the Big Apple was something that “resonated with people all over the world.” With no one else left to blame, Spodek said it was the world’s obsession with social media that caused millennials like Sorokin to foster “delusions of grandeur.”
