Doyle’s next point was a very important one about the necessity of having something, or someone, to believe in. He made the point that life is liable to involve some fairly rough patches, and that everybody needed something to have faith in, that could help them through whatever storms might come their way.
For Doyle that was his faith in God, but it could also be the bond you share with your partner, the friendships you cherish, or anything else that helps offer solace in a difficult patch.
