Sammy wasn’t entirely alone that day in the parking lot, though, and she did have someone watching over her. When she first began talking with the police officer her uncle appeared out of nowhere.
He came over and told the officer he was Sammy’s uncle, and he was just checking everything was okay. Either Sammy’s uncle was in on this too, or he just happened to be there when it all went down. Once the prom proposal had been done, Sammy looked to her uncle once more.
