The whole incident was set up by Sammy’s boyfriend and the people he knew in the police department. Sammy might have been left wondering if her boyfriend was ever going to ask her to the prom, but she might not have expected this.
The whole thing was set up perfectly, and it even made it feel more real that Sammy’s uncle was somehow there too. It was an adorable reaction from Sammy who appeared to be overjoyed at the prospect of having a prom date.
