Even though Herb marries Alan’s ex-wife, Judith, the pair become good friends. He initially works as Jake’s doctor but falls for his mother and the couple eventually tie the knot. Sadly, this doesn’t last as in the tenth season the pair divorce. Throughout the show, Herb has many interests including model trains, gardening, as well as joining a barbershop quartet, and a water polo team. Herb brings plenty of comedy to the show with his unintentional innuendos and his lack of common sense.
